Almost at the end of my LA posts now. Just as well, as the sun and palm trees are already getting to be a distant memory and new posts are lining up to be published.

Catching cabs in an unfamiliar city always presents a good chance for interacting with the locals (captive audience and all that) and discussing the hot topic of the day. In LA, I had taxi drivers of various origins includnig Indian and Latvian, but overwhelmingly they seemed to be Armenian. I shot right into their good books by reporting back on our excellent trip there in May last year (no discounts though!). Many had not returned for years, but felt very proud to be Armenian nonetheless.

Especially mention of the stunning Tatev monastery (above) brought forth a stream of homesick longings to return for a visit. I would have joined them any day. Go here for the rest of our pictures, in case you missed them the first time around.
