merry christmas!

December 22, 2008

A very Merry Christmas to all Myyear readers! I’m afraid I’ll be holed up in a cabin in the Norwegian mountains for the holidays, with no access to the real (online) world.

But not only do I have a Snow Family Christmas to look forward to, fingers crossed there will be lots of the real stuff too, accompanied by presents, skiing, good food and drink. And lots of the usual Myyear characters you have come to know and love will be coming to stay, like Bobby the Preacher, Inspector Gadget, Special K and Little Jacket.

I hope to be able to update on all the goings-on at least once before New Year’s Eve, and if not look forward to celebrating the end of My Year Online with you in 2009. Stay tuned!

my year online

Last year I kept a visual journal, finding a cutting, photo or snippet of text for each day and sticking it into a ringbound diary, alongside some short comments of what I got up to that day. As you can see from the photo, ringbound turned out to be crucial to the project. One year on, the diary is full to bursting, and I have written evidence of the very many books I got to read, people I met, films I saw, trips I took and of course, memorable meals I ate!

This year I thought I would try the same, but recording my impulses and experiences (both online and off) on the web. I am curious as to what the year will bring and what I will learn. If you’ve found me, hello and come along for the ride!
