the cabbage chair

July 3, 2008

Who says cabbage is just for eating? No, just kidding. Japanese design house nendo came up with the cabbage chair in response to Issey Miyake’s request for the 21st Century Man Exhibition in Tokyo, on how we can live and work today.

The chair is made from waste paper and comes in a roll of layers that you can unpeel yourself (like a cabbage…) to form your chair. No Allen keys, nuts, bolts or screws needed, just some creativity and a sense of fun. Would love to try it out!
